9o. World Tour

"For Harmony and Inner Peace"

(Sponsored by the Department of Religion and Culture, Central Tibetan Administration of H.H. the Dalai Lama)

HISTORICAL NOTES

Tibet is located on the southwestern border of China. With an extension of approximately 1,200 km its territory consists mainly of high mountains peaks with an average height of 4,000 m. This land is known as the "Roof of the World".

It is a territory rich in natural resources, minerals, and geothermic areas. It counts with more than 5,700 varieties of plants and a great number of birds and other animals.

The Tibetan plateau remained hidden in the Himalayan glaciers for millenniums, being inhabited only by hospitable and warm people who knew how to live in harmony with their natural environment.

Being closed off from the external world, Tibet was considered a magical and mysterious country, until in 1959 it was invaded by China. Just recently, in the past years, few people have had the opportunity to fully discover the legacy Tibet has left to humanity.

The monks are part of this history and now they come to our countries to give and share with us their culture and traditions, their traditional attire and communal lifestyle, through seminars and a wonderful variety of sacred dances, chants, and healing ceremonies.

PRESENTATION

Under the sponsorship of the Department of Culture and Religion of the Central Administration of H.H. the Dalai Lama, and the World Coordination of the Multicultural Association INKARRI, the monks are embarking on their 9o. World Tour 2006-2007 to the USA, Europe, and Latin America.

All activities of the Tibetan Monks throughout the World Tour have, as their main objective, to encourage, reactivate, and share the Spirit of Universal Compassion, fostering Inner Peace, Unity and the reuniting of the Sacred Traditions from Orient, America, and Europe. The tour pretends to achieve this through the presentation of ceremonies, chants, and traditional dances of Tibet and the different regions they represent, thus bringing together people of different groups of humanistic expression and schools of philosophy, and establishing harmonious links that will allow the communion of all nations on Earth.

For the first time, some of the Tibetan knowledge on psychology, medicine, astrology, philosophy, and energetic healings will be transmitted under theoretic-practical systems throughout the courses and conferences that will take place in different forums and academic institutions in the USA, Europe, and Latin America. The main purpose is to exalt the Human Values of Compassion, Universal Love, Unity, and Inner Peace. Initiation ceremonies, meditations, lectures, and astrological orientations will also take place as well as diagnosis and medical treatments with Tibetan herbal medicine, purifications, and energetic healings based on the principles that have been protected by this culture since time immemorial, while promoting the Development of Human Potential and Harmony.

Through these activities the Monks are trying to build a bridge of light and transformation that will spark the dormant spirituality that lies within us all, and will allow for a kinder, more understanding modern Western world.
